Block 9 - Circles of the Sun CAL

Today was a very long day. It started early in the morning and then I was traveling for the whole day. I am posting from Stockholm now. I came to Sweden to work for almost two weeks. And if I survive, my next (final) post with Circles of the Sun will be made from Malmö :) This is my first time in Stockholm and I like it very much. This city has a very special atmosphere and it was nice to walk through the old town and listen to live music. I would like to post tons of pictures but I know (yes!) that you are waiting for Block 9. So here it is!

Ok… May I, please, share at least one picture with you? Sending you my today’s romantic mood and hoping you are doing well, too!

Today's block reminds the very first in many ways. But it has one and huge difference. You will make lots of clusters today, both with double crochet stitches and trebles :)

Please, check General InformationPart 1Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6Part 7 and Part 8 of this CAL. All granny squares are designed in overlay crochet technique. Please, also check this post to read more about it.

You will need:

• Yarn in 6 colors. I used yarn “Cotton Light” by DROPS (50g/1.76 oz., 105 m/115 yds.) Yarn weight: DK. Texture: 8 ply (11 wpi)

• Crochet hook 3,25 mm (D) or size needed to obtain acceptable gauge. (Please, feel free to choose another yarn weights and the hook to get larger or smaller square).

• Scissors, tapestry needle to weave in ends (I prefer crochet hook for weaving in).

Size

The size of the finished square depends on the yarn and hook you use. My square is approx. 12.5 cm (5 inches) large.

Block 9 from Circles of the Sun Mystery CAL (overlay crochet). Designed by LillaBjornCrochet

I have something else to share with you today. I was thinking to write a blog post with the pictures of finished pillows in the end of the CAL. But when I saw what some of you have done already with the squares, I couldn't resist and decided to post them now!

Here is what Dini Baan made with the blocks. She purchased bamboo rings at a fleemarket and look what a cute bag she made!

And what do you think about this wonderful pillow by Joy Merrill (group on Facebook)? Aren't the colors wonderful?

...and ta-dah! Here is an afghan made by Lori Baran. She joined Circles of the Sun with other squares and look what a beauty it is!

Remeber to subscribe to this blog now and you will not miss a single post! As usually, please, share your finished blocks on Ravelry and Facebook! You can find a pin for this block on Pinterest - please, feel free to repin it and share with your friends! And I will be happy to see you in my Facebook club and on Instagram.

Happy crocheting,
Tatsiana. :)
